Campaign to enhance public participation in education, and thereby reduce the rate of illiteracy to the lowest level in Tessenei sub-zone is bearing fruitful outcome.
Tessenei, 18 November 2010 – Campaign to enhance public participation in education, and thereby reduce the rate of illiteracy to the lowest level in Tessenei sub-zone is bearing fruitful outcome.
The campaign was conducted in collaboration with the branch office of the Education Ministry, the PFDJ and NUEW branches in the sub-zone as regards promoting higher public awareness.
The Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Tekleberhan Gebrewold, called on parents to avail themselves of the educational opportunities made available and take initiatives for tackling shortcomings in schools.
The head of the Ministry of Education branch office in the sub-zone, Mr. Mohammed Hassen, stated on his part that the number of school attendance has dramatically increased. In this regard, he explained that additional schools are under construction so as to accommodate the growing number of student enrollment.
Moreover, Mr. Mohammed indicated that Simoti Elementary School has been upgraded to junior level, and is playing vital role in reducing student dropouts.
