Geleb, 21 November 2010 – The inhabitants of Geleb sub-zone have been called upon to step up efforts to develop culture of preserving reserved lands and forestry.
The Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Girmatsion Abraha, called on the inhabitants to redouble endeavors to conserve the designated land around the mountain areas of Ajeneda, Adhanet and others.
Pointing out that increasing reserve lands and tree inspection plays crucial role in combating desertification besides preserving rich natural resources, the Administrator expressed conviction that land restoration is possible with the on-going soil and water conservation activities.
Mr. Berhane Kibreab, one of the inhabitants of Geleb, indicated that the sub-zone is suitable for bee farming as the mountainous areas are covered with trees.
