Customers express complaints with ERI-TEL phone repairing service

Members of the general public aired out complaints criticizing the Eritrean Telecommunication Service (ERI-TEL) for failing to take urgent action towards mending the usual technical problems encountered in fixed telephone lines. Asmara, 22 November 2010 – Members of the general public aired out complaints criticizing the Eritrean Telecommunication Service (ERI-TEL) for failing to take urgent action towards mending the usual technical problems encountered in fixed telephone lines.

The customers indicated that although there exists ERI-TEL notice informing the public to obtain solution on phone-related difficulties by dialing 961, in reality, however, there is very little chance to access such service. Even if one gets the service by any chance, it is after a long appointment, they added.  They further noted the unnecessary waste of time, energy and money in trying to obtain the service. In this connection, the customers stressed the need for ERI-TEL to give special attention to the task of mitigating technical difficulties.

ERINA’s attempt to get response from the concerned officials of ERI-TEL as regards the complaints was unsuccessful.
