Tiessa land being allotted in Dubarwa sub-zone

The head of the branch office, Mr. Bereket Gile, indicated that tiessa land has been allotted to 268 nationals, out of whom 98 are women in 13 villages last year, while 807 nationals, including 158 women in 17 villages received tiessa land this year.

He explained that previously the local inhabitants were compelled to travel to Mendefera to facilitate their issue. With the opening of the Ministry’s branch office in the sub-zone in 2007, however, such problem has been alleviated, he added.

Meanwhile, tiessa land has been allotted to 233 nationals in Shiketi administrative area. The Administrator of Dubarwa sub-zone, Ms. Leul Asrat, explained that every Eritrean national is entitled to tiessa land ownership and called on beneficiaries to make use of it.

Similar land is also in the process of allotment in the villages of Deki-Tsen’u, Adi-Baro, Adi-Nahbai, Adi-Guari and Sem’asem, according to reports.
