Asmara, 24 November 2010 – Orotta Metal Factory is striving to meet the demand of the local market, according to Mr. Tekeste Gebrezgiabher, manager of the factory.
He stated that the existing machines in the factory have been utilized for manufacturing different types and measurements of nails, fences and other metallic materials. He went on to say that the factory has the capacity of producing more materials, provided modern machineries are introduced.
Mr. Tekeste pointed out that the factory is currently producing 18 different types of nails and fences for the purpose of general construction works. He further indicated that the price of nails that used to be sold at 180 Nakfa per kilo has now dropped to 48 Nakfa a kilo. With the finalization of the envisaged setting up of metal factory in Massawa by the Government, the material item demand of the Orotta Metal Factory would be fully met, which in turn would enable it to boost production both in terms of quality and quantity, he elaborated.
