Asmara, 28 November 2010 – The 2nd Festival of Eritreans residing in Qatar, conducted under the theme ‘No Country, No Dignity’, concluded in vibrant spirit on Saturday 27 November, 2010.
The three-day festival highlighting the Eritrean people’s culture and lifestyle, the heroic feats demonstrated during the armed struggle and exhibition reflecting the nation’s tourism assets, artistic shows and seminars regarding the objective situation of the Homeland, among others.
The Chairperson of the Eritrean community in Qatar, Mr. Tahir Mohammed said that the various programs outlined to enhance the participation of youths have made the festival different from the previous one. He stated the importance of such festivals in acquainting nationals born and raised abroad with the culture of their country and people. Moreover, Mr. Tahir expressed conviction that the youth’s involvement would be further reinforced in the future.
The participants on their part reaffirmed readiness to effectively implement the national development programs.
The 2nd Festival in Qatar was accompanied by the ‘Serawitna Nihbi’ cultural troupe and the final event was transmitted live via ERI-TV.
