Arab League Secretary General lauds Eritrea’s positive role in Horn of Africa issues

The Secretary General of the Arab League, Mr. Amru Mussa, lauded Eritrea’s positive role in the Horn of Africa issues. He stated that the country has a major role to play in the Arab League as it has big influence in various issues of the Horn region.

Asmara, 3 December 2010 – The Secretary General of the Arab League, Mr. Amru Mussa, lauded Eritrea’s positive role in the Horn of Africa issues. He stated that the country has a major role to play in the Arab League as it has big influence in various issues of the Horn region.

Mr. Amru Mussa made the remarks in a press conference he gave following a meeting with President Isaias Afwerki in Cairo.

Noting that Eritrea maintains good cooperation relations with the Arab League, he said that his meeting with President Isaias which focused on regional and international issues was constructive and without reservation.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Television pointed out that Eritrea continues to pursue political and economic development process on the basis of the principle of self-reliance, and that it has geographical significance and influence.
