Using cheque vital in ensuring money safety and facilitating transaction, Says Bank manager

The general manager of the Commercial Bank of Eritrea, Mr. Yemane Tesfai, highlighted the need for customers to properly and legally use cheque as it plays due role in ensuring the safety of money and facilitating transaction activities.
Asmara, 3 December 2010 – The general manager of the Commercial Bank of Eritrea, Mr. Yemane Tesfai, highlighted the need for customers to properly and legally use cheque as it plays due role in ensuring the safety of money and facilitating transaction activities.

He noted that using cheque is a legal process that guarantees cash flow and owner’s safety, besides prolonging the function of the legal tender. Indicating that the Eritrean society has a long-standing habit of making use of Bank, Mr. Yemane pointed out that at present, however, a disturbing scenario is being witnessed as regards applying fake cheque and losing confidence. In this respect, he called on the general public to remain cautious in preventing such phenomenon.

Mr. Yemane further stated that the necessary punitive measures would be taken in accordance with the law against those individuals resorting to such practices. He also called on them to refrain from such reckless move taking into account its negative impact as regards undermining societal values and norms.

The Commercial Bank of Eritrea has 17 branch offices across the nation.
