The Eritrean Association of Nurses conducted its 14th congress yesterday under the theme ‘The role of nurses in treating chronic diseases´. Asmara, 5 December 2010 – The Eritrean Association of Nurses conducted its 14th congress yesterday under the theme ‘The role of nurses in treating chronic diseases´.
Speaking at the conference, Mr. Mehari Woldu from the Ministry of Health highlighted the impressive achievements registered in the health sector, and the paramount role of nurses and assistant nurses.
The president of the Association, Mr. Mengisteab Gaim, presented extensive briefings on the general activities, contribution and future work program of nurses in ensuring public health.
Also, study papers by experts were presented focusing on the role of nurses on the prevention of chronic diseases, decreasing mortality rate of mother and child, among others.
The participants adopted a number of recommendations and suggestions on further reinforcing the association’s activities.
