Members of the public criticize negligence of administrative body for the fire accident at Semble residential complex

The fire accident that occurred today in the collected grass at the Sembel residential complex attest to the negligence on the part of the pertinent administrative body, said members of the public.

Asmara, 7 December 2010 – The fire accident that occurred today in the collected grass at the Sembel residential complex attest to the negligence on the part of the pertinent administrative body, said members of the public.

They stated that instead of effectively utilizing and storing on time the grass gathered as a result of this year’s good rainy season, the practice of  keeping the grasses for a long time in order to obtain high profit constitutes irresponsible act and negligence on the part of the administrative body in the area.

The Acting head of the Sembel residential complex, Eng. Niway Habtetsion, said that the grass was collected for the purpose of auction.

The 5th Police Station in the area disclosed that the cause of the accident has not yet been identified and explained that keeping collected grass for a long time in such a densely populated area constitutes  a reckless act that exposes people  to danger.
