About 3.5 million Nakfa was disbursed for the task that involved construction and renovation of embankments and water catchments. More than 8,000 people and dozers took part in the undertaking and that about 122 meter-long water catchments have been put in place.
Mr. Omar further pointed out that the task is in line with endeavors to divert flowing river waters for agricultural purposes. He also outlined the demanding task encountered in cleaning up the Foro micro-dam that was filled with silt deposition.
Meanwhile, popular campaign is underway to construct water catchments along the road running from Demhina to Foro in which over 650 people are participating on daily basis.
He went on to say that a new high school is under construction in the sub-zone and is expected to facilitate the teaching-learning process. The installation process of electricity from Hirgigo to Foro is also in progress, Mr. Omar added.
