Eritrean Postal Service upgrading work methodology

The necessary study has been undertaken and is proceeding for implementation aimed at providing improved, efficient and speedy postal service, according to Mr. Asmelash Geresus, Acting head of the Eritrean Postal Service.

Asmara, 14 December 2010 – The necessary study has been undertaken and is proceeding for implementation aimed at providing improved, efficient and speedy postal service, according to Mr. Asmelash Geresus, Acting head of the Eritrean Postal Service.

He stated that the study focused on upgrading the organizational capacity and structure of the institution and that it would play due role in introducing effective work methodology. Mr. Asmelash further pointed out that the institution has opened over 700 new postal boxes in different areas this year, and the branch office in Edaga-Arbi here in the capital has been renovated. Besides, 100,000 stamps denoting the 9 ethnic groups have been prepared and put into use, he added.

Also in line with endeavors to upgrade the skill of staff members, training was given in the Eritrean Center of Organizational Excellence and was quite helpful. Mr. Asmelash went on to say that vigorous efforts are being exerted to expand equitable and speedy postal service in all parts of the country.
