The Administrator of Habero sub-zone, Mr. Husien Mohammed Nur, said that the task of grouping scattered villages in one community would continue in an enhanced manner as it is imperative for the public to become beneficiaries of reliable social services.

Habero, 15 December 2010 – The Administrator of Habero sub-zone, Mr. Husien Mohammed Nur, said that the task of grouping scattered villages in one community would continue in an enhanced manner as it is imperative for the public to become beneficiaries of reliable social services.

He told ERINA that over 2,500 families who used to live in scattered areas in the sub-zone and deprived of social services have now been grouped in 8 administrative areas of the sub-zone, which in turn enable them to get access to various social services.

Noting that the people are taking voluntary initiatives to be grouped in suitable center areas, Mr. Husein indicated that they have already become beneficiaries of education, health, potable water supply and transport services. Preparations are also underway to group the remaining villages by the end of this year.

He went on to explain that children who were deprived of educational opportunity due to pastoral way of living and area remoteness are now attending regular classes in the previously existing 3 teaching-stations as a result of the village grouping program. Mr. Husein commended the collaboration of the inhabitants in the success of the program.
