Streets in Barentu town under renovation

Various damaged streets in Barentu town which were causing transport problem are under renovation through machinery-backed activities.

Barentu, 17 December 2010 – Various damaged streets in Barentu town which were causing transport problem are under renovation through machinery-backed activities.

Mr. Haileab Abraha from the technical department in the town indicated that about 6.4 kilometers of dirt roads have now been repaired and become suitable for transport service.

The Administrator of Barentu sub-zone, Mr. Franko Kubaba, said on his part that the undertaking is an integral part of the infrastructure development plan aimed at modernizing the town. Similar activities are also being carried out in a number of areas in the sub-zone through popular campaign.

The mushrooming trees along the streets are also giving added charm to the town.
