Winning national cycling team conducts visit to different parts of the country

Members of the National Cycling Team that scored impressive victory in the African Continental Championship and the Rwanda Tour conducted visit to different parts of the country for observing development and reconstruction programs.  In the course of the visit to the Bahri area, they expressed deep impression with the development achievement so far registered and said that it amply demonstrates the bright future of the country.
Massawa, 17 December 2010 – Members of the National Cycling Team that scored impressive victory in the African Continental Championship and the Rwanda Tour conducted visit to different parts of the country for observing development and reconstruction programs.  In the course of the visit to the Bahri area, they expressed deep impression with the development achievement so far registered and said that it amply demonstrates the bright future of the country.

Cyclist Daniel Teklehaimanot who participated in various cycling competitions in Europe and Africa highly appraised the nation’s rich resources and stressed the significance of sports tournaments in popularizing national  endowments to foreigners.

The coach of the national team, Mr. Samsom Solomon, explained on his part that he met a number of foreigners during a number of competitions who are curious to get familiarized with Eritrea’s landscape and its natural resources. He further expressed satisfaction for experiencing the “Three Seasons in Two Hours” refreshing voyage. Mr. Samsom went on to say that the visit would  help him to properly highlight Eritrea’s natural resources to foreigners.

Likewise, cyclist Dawit Haile pointed out that the encouragement being extended by the people and the Government has a vital role to play in shouldering them with heavy responsibility.

The deputy president of the Eritrean National Cycling Federation, Mr. Tesfai Berhe, noted on his part the paramount importance of sports in popularizing the tourism potentials of a given country.

The members of the cycling team visited Southern, Anseba, Gash-Barka and Northern Red Sea regions respectively, during which the general public and administrative bodies accorded them warm welcome.
