The Secretary of the PFDJ in the Northern Red Sea region, Mr. Hamid Haji, said that ensuring active student participation is imperative in efforts to expand equitable and quality education and ensure social justice. Massawa, 18 December 20101 – The Secretary of the PFDJ in the Northern Red Sea region, Mr. Hamid Haji, said that ensuring active student participation is imperative in efforts to expand equitable and quality education and ensure social justice. To this end, he urged parents not only to send their children to school but also closely follow up their academic pursuit.

In a meeting with Area administrators and village elders in the sub-zones of She’ib, Afabet, Nacfa, Karora and Adobha, Mr. Hamid underscored that parents are duty-bound to send their offsprings of both sexes to school as the expansion of educational institutions in remote and urban areas would ensure the bright future of such children.

Moreover, he explained that soil and water conservation, preservation of forestry and wildlife, as well as expansion of social services are among the tasks that are given top priority. He also stressed the need for the general public to enhance participation for the success of the projects.

The participants of the meeting adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations aimed at addressing various problems, especially that of transport.
