Adi-Tekelezan, 23 December 2010 – In a meeting he conducted with the representatives of the inhabitants of Adi-Tekelezan sub-zone, the Administrator, Mr. Kalifa Musa, stressed the need for applying judicious utilization of micro-dams, especially for irrigation purpose.
He pointed out that the public campaigns being undertaken to promote soil and water conservation activities, road repair, assisting families of fallen heroes and needy citizens as well as planting tree seedlings are bearing fruitful outcome. He further commended the active participation of the people and government bodies in the task.
According to a report presented at the meeting, over 65% of the local inhabitants are getting potable water supply and the number of schools is on the rise. Moreover, the assistance extended to families of orphans is praiseworthy.
The participants on their part reiterated readiness to redouble their contribution in the on-going development programs. They also adopted a number of recommendations including the expansion of bee farming and facilitating the implementation of the master plan of Adi-Tekelezan semi-urban center, among others.
