Central-Denkalia, 27 December 2010 – An assessment meeting held in Afambo semi-urban center disclosed that the inhabitants of Central Denkalia, Southern Red Sea region, are making commendable use of health and educational institutions.
The meeting took note of the fact that no death of mothers and infants was witnessed during pregnancy and delivery in the sub-zone this year. The participation of females in education has also shown dramatic growth.
Also in line with efforts to ensure the provision of pure water supply, 3 potable water supply projects have been implemented in the villages of Dud, Mabra and Bel’ubei in 2010. Besides, 657 needy families were rehabilitated through cattle worth over 4 million Nakfa.
The Administrator of Central Denkalia, Mr. Isak Tium, explained that the task of soil and water conservation, as well as land leveling would be given top attention in the New Year.
