Popular campaign undertaken in Shambuko sub-zone

Students and teachers of junior and secondary schools in Shambuko sub-zone carried out development activities focusing on soil and water conservation.

Shambuko, 27 December 2010 – Students and teachers of junior and secondary schools in Shambuko sub-zone carried out development activities focusing on soil and water conservation.

The head of schools in the sub-zone, Mr. Elisa Solomon, pointed out that development campaign in which more than 600 students and teachers took part is aimed at enriching theoretical aspects of academy with practical one, cultivating the habit of hard work and backing up the ongoing development endeavors.

He further stated that water catchments have been constructed around the water reservoir there through the popular campaign. The participants of the program stressed the significance of such activities in promoting sound ecology and inculcating the habit of hard work.
