New School Built In Dembe-Asmera

A new elementary and junior school has been constructed in Dembe-Asmera administrative area, Shambuko sub-zone.     Shambuko, 29 December 2010 – A new elementary and junior school has been constructed in Dembe-Asmera administrative area, Shambuko sub-zone.

The local inhabitants expressed satisfaction for becoming beneficiaries of various social services and particularly lauded the investment being made in the expansion of educational opportunity. They further asserted readiness to fulfill what is expected of them for the success of the ongoing endeavors.

The inhabitants further stated that they are now in a position to send their children to school at the right age thanks to the available opportunity.

The director of the school, Mr. Tekle Beyene, said on his part that previously students used to pursue education in makeshift tents. At present, however, they are attending classes in comfortable classrooms which in turn is facilitating the teaching-learning process.

The newly built Dembe-Asmera Elementary and Junior School  includes classrooms, teachers’ residence,
