Adi-Keih, 31 December 2010 – Members of the general public urged the concerned party to take the necessary steps for the renovation of the Tsorona-Kuatit dirt road that links with the main Asmara-Adi Keih road as it has been damaged due to heavy rains.
They explained that the road has been out of function for well over 2 years as a result of soil erosion, which in turn negatively affected the agricultural and social activities of the inhabitants of Maiwurai, Ginzebo, Ab’a, Deki-Liefai, Maizgi, Una’Andom and others.
Meanwhile, the local inhabitants highlighted the need for deploying public buses along the Kohaito-Foro road, and thereby ease transport shortcomings.
Mr. Kibrom Amanuel from the land transport office in Adi-Keih sub-zone told ERINA that vigorous efforts are being made to repair roads damaged by heavy rains.
The Administrator of Adi-Keih sub-zone, Mr. Mohammed Hamid, on his part called on the general public to undertake popular campaign towards renovating feeder roads damaged by excessive flooding.
