Information Ministry staff members organize entertainment program to orphan children

In connection with the New Year, staff members of the Information Ministry organized an entertainment program yesterday with orphan children at Godaif who are being cared by the Government.
Asmara, 1 January 2010 – In connection with the New Year, staff members of the Information Ministry organized an entertainment program yesterday with orphan children at Godaif who are being cared by the Government.

The members stated that the program symbolizes the Eritrean people’s noble values of cooperation and care, and that it gave them  moral satisfaction. 

The head of the Asmara Orphan Center, Ms. Fiyori Mehari, explained that the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare is doing its level best to properly raise orphan children in accordance with the societal norms, besides arranging reunion scheme with their close relatives. She further pointed out that the programs organized on various occasions to entertain and demonstrate care to the children have  special meaning to them.

The coordinator of the institutions of the Ministry of Labor and Human Welfare, Mr. Tesfamariam Isak, stated on his part that it is the responsibility of every national to help raise orphan children in accordance with societal culture and values.

The Asmara Orphan Center that operates under the umbrella of the Ministry is currently caring to  21 orphan children.
