Eritrean National Museum giving emphasis to documentation and exploration of heritages

The Eritrean National Museum is giving top priority to the task of documenting and exploring cultural and natural heritages, according to Dr. Yosef Libseqal, head of the Museum.

Asmara, 10 January 2010 – The Eritrean National Museum is giving top priority to the task of documenting and exploring cultural and natural heritages, according to Dr. Yosef Libseqal, head of the Museum.

He explained that the ongoing exploration work is bearing fruitful outcome and would continue in an enhanced manner. Noting that public awareness regarding the significance of relics is on the rise, Dr. Yosef stressed the need for undertaking still greater campaign to enhance the contribution of the society in preserving cultural and natural heritages.

Moreover, he pointed out that the National Museum is providing training opportunities inside the country and abroad so as to upgrade the competence of staff members. As a result, noticeable positive change is being witnessed in the exploration and documentation of relics, Dr.  Yosef added.

The director of study and exploration in the museum, Mr. Tsegai Medhin, said on his part that vigorous endeavors are being made to build manpower capacity, which in turn is bringing about commendable work performance.
