Foreign tourists highly appraise Eritrea’s tourism potentials

Foreign tourist who visited different parts of the country said that Eritrea is a major tourism destination as it is endowed with rich natural resources, as well as peace and security, coupled with hospitable people.

Asmara, 10 January 2011 – Foreign tourist who visited different parts of the country said that Eritrea is a major tourism destination as it is endowed with rich natural resources, as well as peace and security, coupled with hospitable people.

They expressed deep impression with the warm hospitality and the spectacular landscape, especially the winding roads and mountain chains along the Asmara-Keren route.

Among the tourists, Ms. Andrias Tutter  and Mr. Alisaha Stephen both from South Africa, said that they were highly impressed with the breathtaking landscape along the Asmara-Keren road, classic Art deco buildings in Keren, as well as the preservation of the English and Italian cemeteries there. In this connection, they expressed admiration to the existing tourism potentials in the area.

A Dutch national, Mr. Ghunter Anglori, who visited Eritrea for the 3rd time together with his wife on vacation, said on his part that he was impressed to witness that the people in Asmara, Massawa and Keren share similar consciousness, besides being peaceful and hospitable.  The existing salubrious weather is also praiseworthy, he added. 

It is to be noted that Anseba region is endowed with rich historical sites such as Tsaeda-Emba Monastery, De’arit and Debresina, as well as Aratuk, the Italian and English cemeteries.
