Senafe, 13 January 2011 – The introduction of modern bee hive on the part of the branch office of the Agriculture Ministry in Ambesete-Geleba administrative area, Senafe sub-zone, is playing significant role in boosting honey production, according to the inhabitants.
Keshi Haile Gebregziabher, one of the inhabitants of Maekel-Geleba, stated that administrative area is suitable for bee farming as it is endowed with flower trees, and called for enhanced introduction of modern bee hives.
The Administrator of Ambesete-Geleba, Mr. Negasi Mahari, said that the Ministry’s branch office has given training to a total of 150 inhabitants on boosting honey production. 116 trainees received two modern bee hives each, reports added.
Moreover, Mr. Negasi said that the local inhabitants are engaged in livestock and breeding of bee, and stressed the need for the branch office to distribute more modern bee hives in the area.
