Potable water supply project being implemented in Ambesetegeleba

In line with efforts to ease potable water supply problem  that the people are encountering, a project to this end being implemented in Ambesetegeleba administrative area, Senafe sub-zone, at a cost of about 6.5 million Nakfa. It is being implemented through the collaboration of the Southern regional Administration and partners, as well as the local inhabitants.
Senafe, 14 January 2011 – In line with efforts to ease potable water supply problem  that the people are encountering, a project to this end being implemented in Ambesetegeleba administrative area, Senafe sub-zone, at a cost of about 6.5 million Nakfa. It is being implemented through the collaboration of the Southern regional Administration and partners, as well as the local inhabitants.

The project involves the construction of water tanker, water distribution stations, putting in place of solar-energy generating devices and installation of water pipelines.  The task of installing solar-energy generating device and water pipelines has already been accomplished, while the remaining part is the process of full implementation, according to Mr. Idris Hassen, head of projects in the sub-zone.

The Administrator of Ambesetegeleba, Mr. Negasi Mehari, said on his part that active popular participation in the undertaking is facilitating the speedy implementation of the project.

Reports indicated that the local inhabitants, especially mothers were compelled to travel long distance to fetch water that was not up to standard. Such problem would be no more with the finalization of the potable water supply project, they added.
