NUEW Central Council holds 10th regular meeting

The NUEW Central Council held its 10th regular meeting here in the capital on January 22. The Chairperson of the Union, Ms. Leul Gebreab, indicated that encouraging tasks have been accomplished in 2010 with a view to nurturing educated and skilled Eritrean women with active participation in all aspects, as well as easing their domestic burden and improve their economic wellbeing.

Asmara, 22 January 2011 – The NUEW Central Council held its 10th regular meeting here in the capital on January 22. The Chairperson of the Union, Ms. Leul Gebreab, indicated that encouraging tasks have been accomplished in 2010 with a view to nurturing educated and skilled Eritrean women with active participation in all aspects, as well as easing their domestic burden and improve their economic wellbeing.

She further stated that various activities were carried out to organize youths, students and employees so as to ensure the sustainability of the Union. Concerted action has also been taken to enhance co-operation of partnership with a number of associations in a bid to exchange experience, Ms. Leul added.

Following discussion on a report presented, the participants of the meeting adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations highlighting the need to raise the Union’s revenue, step up endeavors to combat female circumcision, enhance health campaigns, give incentive to outstanding female students and the like.
