Forto-Sawa sub-zone: 34 women breadwinners rehabilitated

The NUEW branch in Forto-Sawa sub-zone has rehabilitated 34 women breadwinners through extending material support.

Forto-Sawa, 23 January 2011 – The NUEW branch in Forto-Sawa sub-zone has rehabilitated 34 women breadwinners through extending material support.

The beneficiaries said that the assistance has a vital role to play in improving their living standards and expressed appreciation to the Union. They further explained that the rehabilitation programs being undertaken in a bid to enable women become economically self-supporting is a praiseworthy move that lays ground for attaining basic improvement in their lifestyle. In this connection, they indicated that visible change is being witnessed in alleviating social problems.

The  head of the Union’s branch in the sub-zone, Ms. Amna Ejel Humed, stated that the beneficiaries are from the villages of Wakai, Tela’ai, Kuluntebai and Forto. The program is aimed at enabling women become self-supporting and productive, and that 4 cattle have been extended to each beneficiary, she added. There are also plans to rehabilitate 16 women in similar manner in the near future.
