Various development programs have been implemented in Agordat sub-zone that brought about noticeable improvement in the socio-economic wellbeing of the people, stated Mr. Aurelyo Jacomino, Administrator of the sub-zone.
Asmara, 23 January 2011 – Various development programs have been implemented in Agordat sub-zone that brought about noticeable improvement in the socio-economic wellbeing of the people, stated Mr. Aurelyo Jacomino, Administrator of the sub-zone.
He pointed out that over 4,000 hectares were put under cultivation and yielded encouraging outcome. The cultivation of vegetable farming on about 470 hectares is also making due contribution in meeting market demands, Mr. Aurelyo added.
He further indicated that interest-free loan amounting to 7.3 million Nakfa was extended to more than 250 war-disabled veterans, which in turn improved their living standard. The tasks so far accomplished would serve as stepping stone for registering still more gratifying achievements.
Mr. Aurelyo explained that action plan for 2011 focuses on renovation of fruits and vegetables market centers, replacing of old water pipelines with new ones, renovation of butchery center, as well as promoting reforestation activities.
