The Administrator of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Mussa Rab’a, urged representatives of the people, area administrators and village elders to work diligently in conveying public issues to the concerned party, besides striving to raise societal awareness regarding government policies and programs.
Barentu, 24 January 2011 – The Administrator of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Mussa Rab’a, urged representatives of the people, area administrators and village elders to work diligently in conveying public issues to the concerned party, besides striving to raise societal awareness regarding government policies and programs.
In a meeting with area administrators, village elders and religious leaders in Barentu sub-zone, he called on representatives of the people to organize public occasions that give impetus to development endeavors and put forth budgetary demand to this end in earnest. Mr. Mussa further called on the general public to make good use of the newly available service-rendering institutions.
The regional Administrator also highlighted the need for reinforcing soil and water conservation activities, as well as avoiding harmful practices.
The Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Franko Kubaba, on his part called on representatives of the people to serve with dedication.
The participants of the meeting adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations, including the need for taking punitive measures to prevent deforestation and speeding up land allotment scheme, among others. They also reiterated readiness to actively back up the national development drive.
