The Administrator of Keren town, Mr. Tekie Keleta, said that more than 500 land plots would be allotted for residential purpose in Shefshefit and Katsietai administrative areas in the town.
Keren, 25 January 2011 – The Administrator of Keren town, Mr. Tekie Keleta, said that more than 500 land plots would be allotted for residential purpose in Shefshefit and Katsietai administrative areas in the town.
He pointed out that in order to alleviate housing problem resulting from population growth in the town, partial master plan has been prepared as well as preparations for allotting land plots. Such task has been accomplished through the town administration in coordination with the regional Administration and the Ministry of Public Works, Mr. Tekie added.
Noting that potable water supply problem in Keren is being eased as a result of continued efforts to promote water sources, he asserted that the Government is has drawn up action plan to bring about basic solution to the problem. Moreover, Mr. Tekie disclosed that metals and outdated cars scattered in different parts of the town would be cleared up, and that the land would be utilized for other purposes.
Eng. Michael Girmai from the infrastructure development department in the town said that the land that would be allotted in the aforementioned administrative areas ranges from 300 to 400 cubic meters and takes into account the economic wellbeing of the public. In this connection, he noted that villas and G+1 complexes would be constructed for residential purpose, in addition to health and educational institutions, as well as football field.
