A newly built elementary school in Adi-Hamushte, Gala-Nefhi sub-zone, was inaugurated yesterday.
Gala-Nefhi, 26 January 2011 – A newly built elementary school in Adi-Hamushte, Gala-Nefhi sub-zone, was inaugurated yesterday.
The school would provide educational opportunity to more than 300 children from the villages of Adi-Hamushte, Laguyen and Ademneger. Previously, the students used to travel about 6 kilometers to pursue education in Kitmowlie. With the construction of the new school, traveling long distance would be no more.
The elementary school is equipped with 7 classrooms, 7 teachers’ residence rooms and other facilities. Potable water supply and electricity services have also been made available in the school through the collaboration of the government garage.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony, the Administrator of the sub-zone, Mr. Solomon Haile, pointed out that more schools are being constructed in the sub-zone in a bid to expand educational opportunity. He further called on the inhabitants to make good use of the available service and send their children to school.
The inhabitants of the locality commended the substantial investment being made by the Government towards expanding equitable social services in rural areas.
