President Isaias Holds Talks With Chadian Delegation

President Isaias Afwerki today received and held talks with a Chadian delegation headed by the Minister of Environment, Mr. Hassan Tierab.

Asmara, 26 January 2011 – President Isaias Afwerki today received and held talks with a Chadian delegation headed by the Minister of Environment, Mr. Hassan Tierab.

In the meeting at the State Palace, the Minister delivered a message from President Idris Debi of Chad to President Isaias focusing on relations between the two countries. The two sides also conducted discussion on developing and strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation, as well as on the issue of Green Campaign.

President Isaias gave extensive briefings on the endeavors Eritrea is exerting to prevent desertification through promoting forestation, reserve land and terracing activities. In this respect, he expressed Eritrea’s readiness to actively participate in the Green Campaign at the regional level.
