Vegetable farmers in Adi-Keih sub-zone are redoubling efforts to boost production and stabilize the market through effectively utilizing underground water resource and applying modern farming techniques.
Adi-Keih, 31 January 2011 – Vegetable farmers in Adi-Keih sub-zone are redoubling efforts to boost production and stabilize the market through effectively utilizing underground water resource and applying modern farming techniques.

They explained that they managed to boost production following the introduction of modern farming methods, and that such practices would be reinforced in the future.  In this respect, the farmers called on the Agriculture Ministry to supply them with select seeds of fruits and vegetables, as well as fertilizers.

Meanwhile, the introduction of vegetable farming through irrigation system in Mendefera, Maelewia, Tekondae, Haineba and Embakua’kat is making due contribution in boosting output.

Vegetable farming that was introduced in small-scale in Adi-Keih sub-zone in 1997 has now been expanded to about 200 hectares, according to reports.
