Asmara, 1 February 2011 -Personal commitment and dedication are the hallmark of one’s success regardless of the scope of assistance extended, said war-disabled veteran fighter Abraham Gebrezgiher.
The veteran fighter who lost his two feet during the armed struggle for independence is being exemplary for becoming self-supporting and productive. He explained that although he was supposed to get benefit as regards residential housing in Denden Camp along with monthly salary, he embarked on a grand vision of becoming self-reliant through actively getting engaged in diverse ventures.
The war-disabled veteran outlined the substantial investment being made by the Government towards enabling the disabled become self-supporting through implementing wide-ranging rehabilitation programs. Mr. Abraham further noted that he is one of the war-disabled veterans who succeeded in becoming self-reliant through getting involved in fruits and vegetables farming activities. “Thanks to my hard work and government assistance, I am now owner of 200 orange and papaya trees,” he stated.
