Import of Buffalo cows in Mendefera sub-zone bears fruitful outcome

Dairy farmers engaged in cattle breeding in Mendefera sub-zone disclosed that the newly imported Buffalo cows are producing satisfactory milk output.
Mendefera, 3 February 2011 – Dairy farmers engaged in cattle breeding in Mendefera sub-zone disclosed that the newly imported Buffalo cows are producing satisfactory milk output.

Mr. Tekeste Gebregziabher, one of the farmers, explained that the cows have well adapted to the weather condition in the area. He further commended the support of the Government as well as agricultural experts.

Reports indicated that the livestock in the sub-zone are in good condition as a result of the provision of animal feed, and that efforts are underway to meet expectations as regards reliable supply of water.
