Inhabitants of Haikota getting improved social services

The various service-rendering institutions put in place in Haikota semi-urban center over the past years are bringing about commendable change in the socio-economic development of the public, said the local inhabitants.

Haikota, 4 February 2011 – The various service-rendering institutions put in place in Haikota semi-urban center over the past years are bringing about commendable change in the socio-economic development of the public, said the local inhabitants.

They stated that a number of services such as education, health, mobile phone and transport are providing efficient service to members of the public. Noting the significance of the newly expanded service-rendering institutions in their daily activities, the inhabitants particularly emphasized the educational opportunity being provided to their children, especially those who were deprived of the opportunity due to nomadic way of living.

The director general of social services in the sub-zone, Mr. Tesfazgi Ogbazgi, indicated that various programs are being implemented so as to tackle the existing shortcomings and called on the public to make good use of the newly available facilities.

There are 20 schools, 4 health institutions, reliable potable water supply and transport services in Haikota sub-zone, according to reports.
