Society called upon to step up contribution in preventing crimes

In a meeting with sub-zonal administrators, heads of ministries’ branch offices and Assembly members in Anseba region, the Commander of the Eritrean Police, Col. Mehari Tsegai, called on the society to enhance collaboration in preventing crime.

Keren, 4 February 2011 – In a meeting with sub-zonal administrators, heads of ministries’ branch offices and Assembly members in Anseba region, the Commander of the Eritrean Police, Col. Mehari Tsegai, called on the society to enhance collaboration in preventing crime.

He gave briefings on the objective and activities of Police, the role of the public in crime prevention, law and ethics, coordinated prevention of crimes and accidents, the nature and methods of corruption, among others.

In this regard, Col. Mehari underlined the importance of stepped-up popular participation in combating criminal activities. He also urged the youth to raise awareness regarding law and respect the values of the society, besides refraining themselves from criminal acts.

The participants of the meeting adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations towards preventing crimes.
