As such, parents should do their level best towards making available toys to their offspring, she added.
Asmara, 5 February 2011 – Toys have a vital role to play in easily inculcating the culture and norms of the society in the minds of children, besides enabling them to become disciplined and bright, stated Mr. Abeba Habtom, head of pre-education department in the Ministry of Education. As such, parents should do their level best towards making available toys to their offspring, she added.
Mr. Ababa further indicated that the locally-made various kinds of toys have significant contribution in enabling children become creative and get familiarized with language and social activities. She went on to say that foreign-made toys have negative effect in undermining local culture and tradition, besides being quite expensive and short lived. In this connection, she highlighted the need for parents to give due attention to providing their children with locally made toys.
The manager of a toy making plant, Mr. Habtu Woldegebriel, said on his part that the Plant has been supplying its products to all kindergarten centers across the nation, and that locally-made toys are of high demand.
