Keih-Kor, 9 February 2011 – A water diversion scheme in Dekemhare sub-zone that has been serving the villages of Keih-Kor, Sesah, Afelba and Metsalu is being improved and renovated at a cost of 8 million Nakfa, according to Eng. Amanuel Fesehaye, supervisor of the project.

He pointed out that the 2.3 Km-long water diversion scheme was constructed in 2008 through Bidho Construction Company, and that it has been sustaining erosion due to excessive flooding. At present, however, it is being reconstructed through concrete and would run up to agricultural sites, Eng. Amanuel added.

The Keih-Kor water diversion scheme is expected to irrigate over 300 hectares and that efforts are being stepped up to finalize the undertaking before the onset of the next rainy season.
