He told ERINA that Dengue Fever which is commonly referred to as “welcome” here in the country is caused by dengue virus, and that daytime is suitable for the mosquito to transmit the disease, which could not be transmitted by any other means.  Dr. Bahbelom further explained that a person infected with the virus shows various symptoms within 5 to 8 days, including headache, dizziness, low appetite, fatigue, sleeplessness and others. 

Moreover, he pointed out that the type of Dengue Fever witnessed in Eritrea is a minor one, and could be treated simply by taking anti-pain pills and having enough rest.
