President Inspects Development Programs In Ginda Sub-Zone

President Isaias Afwerki, who is participating in the commemoration of Operation Fenkil anniversary, yesterday inspected agricultural and infrastructure development programs in Ginda sub-zone being undertaken by private investors and the Government.
Ginda, 12 February 2011 – President Isaias Afwerki, who is participating in the commemoration of Operation Fenkil anniversary, yesterday inspected agricultural and infrastructure development programs in Ginda sub-zone being undertaken by private investors and the Government.

The President visited the plantation of exemplary farmer Mahmoud Romodan who manages to obtain good output through cultivating various fruits using the waters of the Be’areza stream and owing to personal commitment and government support. President Isaias observed the orange and other fruits plantation on about 20 hectares, and 16 km-long dirt road running to the promising plantation that was constructed by the exemplary farmer himself.  The President commended his development activities and pledged that the Government would extend him the necessary assistance.

Mr. Mahmoud said on his part that the secrete behind his success lies in hard work and strong determination, and that the President’s encouragement would give him added moral boost.

The exemplary farmer who got engaged in orange plantation along the escarpments of the Be’areza stream in Dengolo administrative area, Ginda sub-zone, 20 years ago is now making major contribution in stabilizing the market at the national level, beyond meeting the demand in the locality.

Also in the course of the tour, President Isaias inspected the putting in place of infrastructure facilities in different parts of the sub-zone, during which he exchanged views with pertinent heads.
