Assab, 12 February 2011 – The water resource branch in the Southern Red Sea region gave training to 20 technicians on installation of solar energy, hand-pump and water pipelines, as well as plumbing and soil and water conservation.
During the graduation ceremony, the head of the branch office, Mr. Russom Teklemariam, pointed out that the Government is disbursing substantial budget towards the implementation of potable water supply projects with a view to easing drinking water problem. In this connection, he stressed the significance of the training in ensuring the sustainability of such projects.
The director general of infrastructure development and social services, Mr. Andemichael Solomon, on his part called on the trainees to live up to expectations.
The trainees are from the sub-zones of Araeta, Central Denkalia, South Denkalia and Assab, as well as the branch of the Ministry of Land, Water and Environment.
