Adult Education Program Being Intensified In Assab Sub-Zone

The participation of nationals in Adult Education Program in Assab sub-zone has shown significant growth compared to last year, according to Ms. Nigisti Teame, supervisor of the program in the sub-zone.
Assab, 14 February 2011 – The participation of nationals in Adult Education Program in Assab sub-zone has shown significant growth compared to last year, according to Ms. Nigisti Teame, supervisor of the program in the sub-zone.

She told ERINA that the program is progressing well and encouraging adult education is in progress in Assab Siqur in particular in which the teaching station was opened by women initiatives. Ms. Nigisti called on other stations to emulate such a move.

The participants of the program highlighted the significance of education and stated that they are now able to read and write and would further upgrade their educational level.

Reports indicated that there are 5 stations in Assab sub-zone that provide adult education in Afar, Arab and Tigrinya languages.
