Keren, 16 February 2011 – Health professionals serving in different parts of Anseba region expressed readiness to work diligently for the effective implementation of the action plan for 2011 towards ensuring public health.
In a meeting held in Keren town with heads of sub-zonal administrations, representatives of ministries’ branch offices and other institutions, they voiced determination to step up contribution in efforts to prevent communicable and non-communicable diseases. In this regard, the health professionals said that more efforts would be exerted in tackling problems witnessed during pregnancy and child birth, besides reducing mother mortality rate.
Also speaking at the meeting, the head of the Health Ministry’s branch in the region, Mr. Zekarias Ogbaslasie, outlined the tasks undertaken and the achievement scored in expanding health service and ensuring public health since independence. He also called on health experts to redouble endeavors to this end.
The participants of the meeting adopted a number of resolutions and recommendations aimed at developing health services.
