The head of the Education Ministry’s branch in the sub-zone, Mr. Woldegiorgis Keleta, stated that the center would play significant role in upgrading the competence of teachers in the sub-zone.

Meanwhile, 5 schools along with teachers’ residence have been built in the villages of Adegolbo, Debremariam, Adi-Ashker, Mekabir Tsabla and Adi-Merho. Additional classrooms have also been constructed in three schools. Students who used to attend classes in makeshift tents would now pursue education in comfortable classrooms.

Mr. Woldegiorgis indicated that student participation in education is showing significant increase in the sub-zone as a result of the continued campaign. He also explained that student dropout is on the decline as both parents and teachers are closely following up student performance.
