Keren, 20 February 2011 – The efforts to promote tourism potential in Anseba region is bearing fruitful outcome in promoting the flow of both domestic and foreign tourists.
According to the head of the branch office of Tourism Ministry in the region, Mr. Mogos Asgedom, various ancient historical sites and artifacts have been studied and identified in different areas of Anseba region. He went on to say that extensive campaigns have been carried out aimed at upgrading the capacity of business enterprises to render efficient service to visitors.
Pointing out that Anseba region is a striking tourist attraction site, Mr. Mogos indicated that the Ministry is undertaking strenuous endeavors to preserve and maintain significant historical places in collaboration with partners. He added that the number of wild animals is on rise as a result of the efforts underway.
Professor Nicolas Sanchez, a Spanish tourist, expressed his impression with the ancient buildings found in Keren and its environs, as well as with the proper handling of Italian and British Cemetery in the region. The profession also expressed admiration to the hospitability of the people.
