Women in Afabet sub-zone said that they have been able to bring about behavioral change in their lives as a result of the continuous campaigns regarding prevention of communicable diseases and combating harmful traditional practices.
Afabet, 20 February 2011 – Women in Afabet sub-zone said that they have been able to bring about behavioral change in their lives as a result of the continuous campaigns regarding prevention of communicable diseases and combating harmful traditional practices.
They told ERINA that the campaigns are playing a vital role in uprooting harmful traditional practices as well as enhancing peoples’ awareness concerning various communicable diseases.
Ms. Semira Idris, one of the inhabitants, explained that cultural pressures and harmful traditional practices on mothers and children are declining as a result of the awareness.
The inhabitants also called for the continuation of such campaigns in extended manner.
