Gash-Barka Region: Administrator Observes Development Programs In Different Areas

The Administrator of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Mussa Rab’a, said that the setting up of foam factory in Alebu would make due contribution in alleviating residential housing problem in the region. He made the remarks in the course of his visit to observe infrastructure and agricultural programs.

Alebu, 22 February 2011 – The Administrator of Gash-Barka region, Mr. Mussa Rab’a, said that the setting up of foam factory in Alebu would make due contribution in alleviating residential housing problem in the region. He made the remarks in the course of his visit to observe infrastructure and agricultural programs.

Mr. Mussa observed the implementation of development programs in different sub-zones of the region, including agricultural infrastructure, micro-dams, service-rendering institutions and others. He called on the inhabitants to make good use of the available facilities so as to ensure their sustainability.

Also in the course of the visit to Golij sub-zone, the Administrator observed a new micro-dam under construction, during which he received briefings by members of Bidho Construction Company on its significance in enriching underground water resources in the area and promoting irrigation farming.

Moreover, Mr. Mussa observed the construction of a new school in Diresa administrative area through Homib Construction Company, in addition to the implementation of concrete-foam housing construction system in Gerset and Tessenei.

Also during the visit, the manager of Homib Construction Company, Mr. Kidane Woldu, pointed out that the construction of housing residential complex is suitable to the weather conditions in the area, besides being at a fair price in a manner that corresponds to the capacity of the inhabitants.

Mr. Mussa subsequently observed the endeavors exerted in promoting the cultivation of white beans in Tessenei, during which he was observed that the cultivation of the crop in 250 hectares is in a promising stage.
