Training Given To Teachers Serving In Nomadic Education Programs In Gash-Barka Region

The Education Ministry’s branch office in Gash-Barka region gave training to 150 new teachers that would serve in expanding educational opportunities to nomads.

Barentu, 22 February 2011 – The Education Ministry’s branch office in Gash-Barka region gave training to 150 new teachers that would serve in expanding educational opportunities to nomads.

The head of the branch office, Mr. Kelit Girmai, indicated that the program is essentially aimed at providing education to nationals solely depending on agricultural and herding activities.  He also called on the trainees to work diligently for the success of the program.

The head of basic education in the branch, Ms. Nejat Ibrahim, on her part highlighted the importance of nomadic education program and noted that courses focused on pedagogy principles, curriculum planning, class management, application of educational devices, pronunciation of English language and the ethics of professionalism.
